Practice Update

Due to the on-going situation with Coronavirus, we are taking measures in line with guidance shared by NHS England and Public Health authorities to minimise risks associated with the virus, in order to protect our patients and staff we are asking our patients to support us with this.

Appointments:

We are requesting all patients not to attend the practice without prior agreement from a member of our clinical team.

Did you know that you can access our GP services anytime, anywhere, via the website. Please click the eConsult box on the home screen. You will be asked some questions about your problem or request, this is a quick and easy way to receive advice within 2 working days.

Appointments will only be bookable on the day and will be conducted as a telephone appointment, which means a doctor will telephone you to discuss your health issue. Where necessary the doctor may then arrange for you to have a Video consultation with them, or to come into the surgery for a face-to-face appointment. Please ensure we have an up to date telephone number for you.

When visiting SMG we request patients over the age of 5 wear protection over their nose and mouth, (mask or scarf). We ask patients to arrive no sooner than 5 minutes before their appointment time. If you do arrive earlier, you may be asked to wait outside due to social distancing. Please DO NOT bring an escort and if possible try to use your own toilet facilities before attending.

Please DO NOT come into the surgery if you have any flu like symptoms, Fever, Cough or loss of smell or taste.

The SMG team are working incredibly hard to recognise our processes and manage our capacity. We appreciate our patients support and consideration of these adjustments.

Thank you for your co-operation.
